Considering his earlier tone the word 'grateful' and that strange smile takes her by surprise, but it's clear by now that he's not where he should be - lost, displaced - and Toni's never been good at being negative or at holding the dumb ego-fueled things people say when they're out of sorts against them for very long. She grabs two of her favorite kölsch from the bar fridge and heads over to find her own seat in his wake, flopping down next to him on the sectional and passing him the ale.
