"I'll be fine." Steve shakes his head, waving Tony away without raising a hand. "Go, lay down before you fall down."
It's obvious the comparison has made Tony uncomfortable and he's not one to trap a person in a hard conversation if he can help it. He just lets his head sag back, looking up at the ceiling, eyes focused far away on nothing in particular.
"I'll try and go back to sleep when my wrist stops hurting so much."
When that tightness in his chest finally loosens up a little, when he stops seeing Bucky's smiling face behind his eyelids...
