"I don't care what another man does in private unless he's hurting someone. People take love where they can find it and that's not my business." He shrugs, avoiding Tony's gaze.

"You grow up where I grew up and you saw what happened to people who were outed. I'm sure you're educated enough to know it wasn't pretty. I don't care what you live like, nobody deserves the kind of things that happened to those people. It's not for me to tell others how to live, anyway."

He finishes off his milk and sets it aside, crossing his arms instead and trying not to fixate on Tony's hands. He fails spectacularly.

"Besides, I understand homophobia isn't really the popular attitude these days."

At least he can pull of a touch of sarcasm still.
